Supervised by a coach, this course teaches you how to ski safely on varied terrain, master ascending and descending techniques, and enjoy the freedom of off-piste skiing.

Ski touring, also known as ski mountaineering, combines physical exertion, technique and discovery.
It is the ideal activity for:

Course objectives
Learn how to:
-Use specific equipment (sealskins, bindings, avalanche transceivers, etc.);
-Manage your effort when climbing and adopt the right conversion techniques;
-Analyse the terrain and assess avalanche risks;
-Enjoy descents in virgin snow in complete safety;
-Understand the basics of weather and snow science.
Typical session procedure
Welcome and preparation
-Meet with the guide, check equipment and review the day’s itinerary based on weather conditions.
Technical introduction
-Learn or review how to use ski mountaineering equipment: skins, bindings, adjustments, avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe.
Ascent with climbing skins
-Work on step technique, effort management, kick turns and reading the terrain.
Panoramic break
-Time to relax, admire the landscape, rehydrate and discuss progress.
Descent
-Practical application of skiing techniques in natural snow, choice of trajectory, adaptation to conditions.
Personalised assessment and advice
Review of the outing, areas for improvement, tips for continuing to practise independently.
