Our ski and snowboard lessons in Zermatt
Private ski lessons: your instructor’s full attention
In a private lesson, your instructor tailors every minute to your pace and your goals. It is the format that helps you progress fastest:
- beginners: learn the basics with confidence;
- children: discover skiing in a fun, reassuring way;
- adults: improve your technique or get back into skiing after a break;
- advanced skiers: refine your style, try off-piste or prepare for a race.
Lessons of 2 hours (CHF 195), 3 hours (CHF 290) or a full day (CHF 490). You can share the lesson with family or friends of a similar level: each extra person costs only CHF 20 (CHF 50 for a full day).
Group lessons: progress in a small group
Our group lessons bring together 2 to 5 people with a certified instructor, for CHF 135 per person for 3 hours or CHF 195 for a full day. The small group keeps the teaching tailor-made, in a friendly atmosphere, and you also learn by watching the others. Zermatt is one of the two resorts, with Crans-Montana, where we offer this format.
Family Group: one instructor for the whole family
Parents, children from 5 years old, friends: with the Family Group, one instructor takes care of the whole group, up to 8 people, even with different levels. They assess everyone and adapt the session: balance and first turns for beginners, technique and fluidity for intermediates, fine-tuning and varied terrain for advanced skiers. The price is CHF 320 for a half day and CHF 580 for a full day, for the whole group.
Snowboard lessons: from 5 years old
Our private snowboard lessons are for beginners and advanced riders alike: stance, balance, gliding and braking to start with, then carving, jumps and quick changes of direction. Children aged 5 to 6 have 1 h 30 sessions, and from 7 years old sessions of at least 2 hours. 3-hour lesson CHF 290 or full day CHF 500, plus CHF 20 or CHF 50 per extra person.
Freeride: guided off-piste skiing
For advanced to expert skiers, teenagers and adults, freeride opens up another side of the mountain: reading the terrain, safety and the joy of untracked snow, with a methodical and strict approach to risk management. Half day CHF 290, full day CHF 500, plus CHF 20 or CHF 50 per extra person. Safety equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe) is not included; rental is available on request.

How a lesson works
- Welcome: your instructor meets you at the meeting point agreed when you book. Together you set your goals and check your equipment.
- Warm-up: a few exercises to ease in gently and find your balance.
- Tailored session: speed control, turns, carving, handling slopes. Your instructor guides you, corrects you and adapts the programme to the snow and weather conditions.
- Debrief: at the end of the lesson, they review your progress and suggest runs and exercises to keep improving.
Which lesson should you choose?
You are a beginner or want to progress fast: a private lesson. You ski on your own: a group lesson, the most affordable option. You are 3 or 4 people of the same level: a shared private lesson often costs less per person than a group lesson. You are a family with different levels: the Family Group. Not sure? Call us and we will help you choose.
